My most recent finished project marks the start of a new phase in my knitting.
This gorgeous scarf:
is my second knit in my new knitting-for-hire adventure.
Which means that it is leaving my house.
Which is too bad, really, because I love it.
Which is odd, because I don’t even wear scarves.
So, here is the skinny on the whole making-money-with-knitting-needles thing:
A lovely friend of mine runs a cute little custom knitting business and has taken me on as a “guest knitter”. She (we) knits all kinds of things, from hats, scarfs, and fingerless gloves, to longies, soakers, and baby clothes (and more). Check it out on Facebook here.
I shy away from using my blog commercially, so this may be all that I will ever say of this. I just wanted to show you this awesome scarf and invite you to meet my knitting buddy. Maybe you could “like” her on Facebook and help spread the word about HeAdCaSe Wool.
My Ravelry project page for knitterly info on this amazing scarf.
It’s lovely 🙂 She’s so excited!!!
I can’t imagine you can make a reasonable wage on hand-knits! A scarf like that should cost hundreds of dollars for the time and materials. 🙂 Looks great!
Yes, if I were to tally up actual per hour wage, I might cry myself to sleep. 🙂 While it would be nice to make the big bucks, I realize that no one is going to pay what it really is worth. I figure that I can at least make a little money with my time doing something that I absolutely love. It all comes out good in the end. 🙂
Oh boy! Am I excited! I assure you the scarf is going to a good home! Thank you so very much for the most beautiful scarf I’ve ever seen. I can’t hardly wait!
I hope you love it in person, too. 🙂 And, I should mention that this colorway is not something that I would have chosen, but worked up so beautifully that I am now going to have to make something for myself with it! 🙂 (probably the very same scarf….)
I’m sure I will love it! And you know I never really thought the colors either, but I picked out my favorites after Mysti directed me to some yarn sites. THANK GOODNESS she did because I had no idea what was out there. THIS is truly a treat. I can’t tell you how much your work means to me. Thank you again. 🙂
