The Boy turned eleven last weekend and he loves Legos. So I threw a Lego Mania Birthday Party of Destiny.
There were mini-fig cups (curtesy of The Dancing Queen, who sat and drew each and every one)
There was a Lego cake (the masterpiece created by The Bookworm)
There were paper legos everywhere – on the table…
… and in the trees.
Even the gift was disguised as a giant Lego!
There were real Legos, too. We had a Lego car building contest –
After which the kids (and some of the dads) raced their creations to see how fast they’d go.
The cars were the party favors so there was incentive to use the interesting pieces – knowing that they could keep whatever they could race spurred the kids to think outside the box. Some of the cars were very creative!
It was a really fun day, and the weather was beautiful and the food was good and the company was fabulous.
Happy Birthday, Boy! I can’t believe you’re already eleven!
I know it’s a boy thing…Little Man loves his Legos (and he’s only 3). I have a feeling his love of Legos is going to last awhile. I’m okay with it as long as he remembers to pick them up and put them away. I don’t like stepping on them in the middle of the night.
So much fun! Happy Birthday to the Birthday Boy!
What a great idea with the Lego party favors and decorations! Legos are adicting and one can never outgrow them. A true classic.
Happy Birthday!
What a great idea. I love the ‘race track’ as well. Happy Birthday to the birthday boy!
