I used to grab my mum’s spare needles, hold them just like I thought she held hers, and just smack them together to make the same sound I thought my mum made whilst knitting – not even with any yarn I thought I was doing the same thing as her. I think I was a lot younger than 6 though (I hope I was!) Have fun teaching the next generation.
